Chapter 5
When Does TRT Make Sense?

TRT stands for testosterone replacement therapy.
The idea is simple.
If your body is not making enough testosterone, TRT gives your body testosterone from outside.
The goal is to bring testosterone back into a healthy range and improve symptoms caused by testosterone deficiency.
TRT Is Not for Every Man
Feeling tired is not enough.
Having erectile dysfunction is not enough.
Being older is not enough.
Wanting more muscle is not enough.
The strongest reason to consider TRT is:
Symptoms that fit low testosterone + properly confirmed low testosterone + a medical evaluation showing that treatment is appropriate.
How Is Testosterone Given?
There are several forms of testosterone treatment.
They include:
- Injections
- Gels
- Patches
- Pellets
- Some oral products
- Some nasal products
Each option has advantages and disadvantages.
Several forms, one individualized choice
- Forms
- Injections, gels, patches, pellets, oral products, and nasal products.
- Choice
- Cost, convenience, frequency, response, side effects, health, fertility plans, and preference all matter.
TRT comes in several forms. The best option depends on the person.
TRT Is Replacement, Not Bodybuilding
Medical TRT is not the same as taking very high doses of testosterone or anabolic steroids for bodybuilding.
The goal is not:
“How high can we push your testosterone?”
The goal is:
Get you into a healthy range and improve the symptoms that matter without causing unnecessary risk.
